Additions
I will be posting more items as the semester rolls along so check out the tabs at the top of the page for new images, events and information.
This is a Test
This is a proposal that I hope will induce my professor to let me create a blog as an independent study project that will earn three credits toward the completion of my Bachelors degree in fine arts.
I think it could be a great way to document the progress of my work and give exposure to others that have traveled the road to the BFA with me.
I plan to publish images of the work of myself and others (with their permission), videos, links, and news. It should be interactive and informative with an added bit of humor. I hope to share what I have learned on my journey and to learn from those who interact through this medium. I appreciate and encourage comments although moderating will be necessary.
It is my ambition to gain a "following" of like minded people as well as encourage others to create blogs of their own. I hope that the conversations that occur here will promote new directions and encourage constructive feedback.

Why Que Es?
Que Es? This is a Spanish question of inquiry meaning "What is it?", "What is he?", or "What is she?"
Here are some reasons I am employing it:
I am using it as a pseudonym for my initials K. S. For full disclosure I will tell you my name: Katy Stuckel.
There is also spirit of inquiry in relation to works of art, the process of creation, and to the creators themselves. Insight is gained by understanding the layering of the coding.
The question also relates to my own work which primarily focuses on portraiture and the search for connection as well as self recognition. In other words, Que Es? What is it in relation to who/what am I and who/what are you? In relation to I and Thou, I and you, us and we.
I hope to expand on this idea as the work and the blog develops, input and interaction is crucial.
I appreciate your comments.
